The village of Corrales, the Spanish word for corrals is the Horse Capital of New Mexico, and boasts a lovely rural character amidst its more metropolitan neighbors. Though rural, this village is known as a haven for artists, award-winning wineries, and restaurants. Residents enjoy local festivals and grower’s markets, as well as a rich and interesting history - two pueblo ruins, unexcavated, are known to exist in the village, and many pit-houses and artifacts have been discovered in villager’s backyards. Corrales is the safest community in New Mexico and is just north of Albuquerque and west of the mighty Rio Grande river; a location which is perfect for enjoying nature and wildlife, and allows for easy access to retail therapy. The best of communities in the middle of it all!
